FAQ’s For Tree Services

1. What tree services do you offer?

We offer a full range of professional tree care including tree removal, tree trimming & pruning, stump grinding & stump removal, shrub & bush trimming, emergency storm damage cleanup, tree health assessments, and plant health care services throughout Ogden and Northern Utah.

2. Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Arbor Pro Utah is fully licensed and insured. This protects your property and our crew, and is crucial for any professional tree service – don’t hire anyone who isn’t.

3. Are you a local company?

Yes, we are veteran owned & operated and locally based in Ogden, UT at 313 East 2300 North. We serve Ogden and all surrounding areas in Northern Utah with 45+ years of collective experience.

4. How much does tree removal cost?

Cost depends on tree size, location, condition, and access. A small ornamental tree is very different from a large Cottonwood over a house. We provide free, no-obligation written estimates with no hidden fees so you know exactly what it covers.

5. When is the best time to trim trees in Northern Utah?
Late fall through late winter (dormant season) is ideal for most species in Ogden. It reduces stress, prevents disease, and gives us better visibility. However, dead, hazardous, or broken limbs should be removed immediately any time of year.
6. What's the difference between tree trimming and pruning?
Trimming is typically for appearance, clearance, and keeping growth under control (HOA-friendly). Pruning is strategic – removing dead, diseased, or crossing limbs to improve tree health, structure, and safety. We do both.
7. Do you offer emergency tree service after a storm?
Yes. We offer emergency storm damage cleanup 7 days a week. Northern Utah winds and heavy snow can split limbs or bring trees down fast. We respond quickly to remove hazards and make your property safe.
8. Do you grind the stump too, or just cut the tree down?
We do both. Tree removal and stump grinding are separate services. We can grind any size stump 8-12 inches below grade so you can plant grass, landscape, or replant. We have the big tools to do it right and we haul away the mess.
9. How deep do you grind stumps?
Standard is 8-12 inches below ground level, enough for sod or landscaping. If you plan to replant a tree in the same spot, let us know and we’ll grind deeper to remove more of the root system.
10. Will you clean up after the job?
Absolutely. This is where we stand out. We do the stunt work so you don’t have to, and we clean up after. All brush, wood, and debris is removed unless you want to keep the wood chips or firewood.
11. Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Ogden?
For most trees on private residential property in Ogden, no permit is required. However, some HOAs and commercial properties do have rules. We can help you check and avoid that HOA ticket.
12. Do you have certified arborists on staff?
Yes. Our team has dozens of years of experience and holds professional certifications including ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) certification. You get expert advice, not just a chainsaw.
13. Can you trim trees near power lines or my house?
Yes, but safely. Tree work near structures and power lines is dangerous and requires trained pros with proper equipment. We follow industry safety standards to protect our employees and your property. Never attempt this yourself.
14. What should I do if my tree looks sick or diseased?
Call us for a free assessment. Common issues in Ogden include iron chlorosis, Cytospora canker, and pest damage. We provide tree health assessments and plant health care to diagnose the issue and recommend treatment before it spreads.
15. How do I get an estimate?
Just call us at 801-382-9598. We offer free estimates, any day of the week. We’ll come out, assess your trees, and give you a fair, honest, reasonably priced bid. No pressure.
